Meet Brian and Vera Avery, owners of Gypsy Sea Adventures!

Brian has a lifetime of experience working, and playing, on the ocean. He was born in the resettled community of Deer Harbour, Random Island and was raised in Hickman's Harbour. Brian had a successful career as a Navigating Officer with the Canadian Coast Guard, as well as the Manager at the Office of Boating Safety with Transport Canada.

Vera was born and raised in St. John's and has childhood connections with summertime living on Random Island. She is a primary school teacher, with a passion for travel and design.

Brian and Vera raised their 3 sons in Clarenville, instilling in them a love of family and sense of adventure.

​

From their passion for exploring and love of the ocean, Gypsy Sea Adventures was born, in 2019. The experiences they offer include kayak and paddleboard rentals, custom zodiac boat tours, and incredibly unique retreats in Deer Harbour, and on their private "Three Tickle Island".

 

Brian and Vera's zest for life is contagious, and a day spent with them on the sea never disappoints!
